In a world where magic is new and budding, young soldier Phae returns home suddenly, body scarred and spirit frail after a fierce battle escaping their King. Back in her hometown of Amberfall, she seeks solace in the arms of her old lover, Gwyn, a fiery spirit left heartbroken by Phae's departure. Will Phae and Gwyn be able to mend their fractured bond and embrace the magic of their shared destiny, or will the scars of the past keep them from a future together?
